A really productive week

This week we interviewed a tutor for John- his name is Mike and he's from the DRC (our future neighbor). John started with him on Wednesday and their first meeting seemed to go really well- he arrived on time and had loads of ideas for what to work on together.

We also interviewed a woman to watch Sam in the afternoons while we're in class together. Her name is Munya and she is a friend of a friend. As much as we care about getting the most out of our French lessons, Sam is so much more important- so we're a little nervous about having a stranger care for him. We felt good about her during the interview and we trust her friend too so I'm sure it will work out great. She'll start Monday when we have just 2.5 hours away from Sam because of a scheduling conflict at school and then on Friday we'll be back to the regular 3.5-4 hours away. That will be a bit difficult too because Sam is still being exclusively breastfed- no idea if he'd take a bottle even if we tried. This will be just 6 weeks more until we start him on solids so in a few months she can just feed him something if he gets hungry/thirsty while we're away. Until then, we may have to figure something else out.

My tutor is on vacation this week so I'll be talking to her this weekend. I'm really hoping things will work out with her ( Thesia) because she's from Brazzaville- but last time we tried (before France) she wasn't really punctual at all, and with John and Sam's schedule to coordinate with I really need to try to do it on time.
