John and I are in Penang for the end of Ramadan holiday- it is such a wonderful break for us! We are enjoying in no particular order:
-hot showers and baths
-seeing our nieces 9 months more grown up (I'm sure a whole post will be dedicated to them when we get back to Aceh and upload our pics from this trip)
-not being stared at in public
-being able to wear shorts
-delicious wholesome food from Susan (John's sis)
-delicious not-as-wholesome food from the local stalls
-sleeping in
I'm continuing my tradition of reading a lot while in Penang. The Littletons have a great library and I love finding books to inspire, teach, challenge, and encourage me. This trip I've read a few books on pregnancy and babies, a book on the life of Rachel Saint, and a collection of insights and wisdom from Margaret Feaver- a wonderful woman known personally to the Littletons, who has written a collection of lessons learned through her 80+ years of life. The book is called "Precious Pearls: An Inheritance of Tears and Treasures" and is kind of like a family inheritance of wisdom that she is sharing in this book with others. Really remarkable stuff- remarkable not in its shock value but in its day-to-day applicability.
