Fun with friends in Philly

We've really been enjoying catching up with people- and while we don't always have our camera with us to capture the moments here are a few :-)

Our friends Cameron and Jen (who let us stay with them for a long while when we first got back) and Eric and Melissa (who live right next door) know us pretty well- so much so that when our very favorite thrift store chain in Philly closed it's doors- Melissa emailed in October to let us know (so the shock wouldn't overwhelm us) and they all did some investigative research to discover that the one Village Thrift in Kensington was still open. They took us there our first weekend back and we had breakfast at Golden Sunrise- a diner with a special place in John's heart (and stomach and wallet). Unfortunately, Golden Sunrise only has four seater booths so three of us (or three and a half if you look at it that way) had to cram onto one booth.

The next weekend our friend Rachel (not pictured) had an amazingly fun birthday party at a Japanese restaurant in town and a bunch of our friends got together to do some good old fashioned Karaoke. Melissa and I sang "A Whole New World" from Aladdin :-) and though we were great- my real favorites of the night were- Brad singing "You Oughta Know" and a Mike and Marya led rendition of "All the Small Things" by Blink 182 and a girl group led sing of "I need a Hero"

We've really had a great time catching up with friends here (even though like I said we don't always have a camera with us) and I think it's been especially great because we're in the last month or so of life before a baby and are really enjoying doing the kinds of things that we may not be able to as much in the next few years.

Forget the lullabies- Now I know what songs to sing to your baby...
