Eid, Redecorating, and England

We started the weekend with an evening of good food, conversation, and games with a really nice couple in town for a few months. We tried a new Moroccan dish with tortilla-ish bread as the base and then chicken and lentils and sauce on top (recommended by our other friends Cody and Carrie)- it was great! We also played speed scrabble- always a fun endeavor and great to meet some wordgame players.

Friday was the last day of fasting for Ramadan, so Saturday and Sunday were holidays here. In general, as far as I can tell, Moroccans celebrate by eating couscous (not eaten during Ramadan) and some fun little pancake things, buying new clothes for the kids, and resting. We were invited back to Munya's home (Sam's babysitter) to celebrate with them. We had a delicious couscous and a great time with them agian. Sam was a hit of course.

With the big kids...

Sam actually being a little snuggly for a change :-)
We decided to use the rest of the weekend to continue work on redecorating, reorganizing, and cleaning of my parents place. I really hope they'll be pleased with some of the changes when they get back next week. Mostly I watched Sam and John worked on the house- so I got the better end of the deal. Sam and I had a lot of fun bonding moments: playing in the garden, climbing over the furniture in the salon, and watching John hammer and drill. We had to get Sam used to the noises by imitating them first with our own voices and then pretending it was a game. Sometimes it worked.

Now we're getting excited for our next adventure- a trip to Chichester, England, this weekend. We'll be getting our visas renewed and seeing some dear friends we met while in Aceh (more on them of course when we're there).

Oh and I'm not posting any videos up here today, but my mom requested MORE VIDEOS- so though none were quite shining enough to warrent blog placement- there are a plethora of new Sam videos on Youtube. Just look for keyword SamBaby and they'll come up.

Chichester, England is almost ready for the Littletons arrival.

We have been preparing for weeks and we are almost there. Rumour has it, there may even be some 'brownie' made for Jon.

You do like brownie don't you Jon?!

Love the cuddly-Sam picture. Also the "getting into stuff" one above.
