Sam the rapidly improving mover

Let me first say that I vow to have a post about something other than Sam and with pictures of John and maybe even me sometime soon- I realize that this blog is a bit lopsided and might lose the right to its title if I don't make it a bit more well-rounded :-)

But for this time...I can't remember what I last said about Sam and moving, but here's a video of him crawling.

Also today and yesterday, he has:
1) chased a volleyball around two rooms
2) climbed a stair
3) lifted himself up to a standing position on several objects of varying sturdiness

it's pretty exciting...
but in addition to that, Sam and I just had the sweetest nighttime to date. He ate so sweetly and then rested calmly in my lap while flipping the pages of one of his books and then looked up at me while I sang him a song. Then as I put him in the crib, I bumped his head, but no complaints from him- and he fell asleep without a peep.

And it turns out that my sister and parents are up for spoiling me altogether and so my sister is picking up one of those toys I want from someone off of craigslist and my parents are finding space in their luggage to bring back a 5.5 lb toy. That's real love as those of you overseas know- just think how many packages of taco seasoning, brown sugar, and ranch dressing powder could be brought instead :-)

My mom has started a glorious little tradition of taking Sam when he wakes up on Thursdays for a couple of hours- sometimes my dad takes him for awhile too and he doesn't come home until his nap time. Here they are on this Thursday's outing.

Who doesn't love a naked baby?

Woah guys - is that a tatoo on Sam's leg? I zoomed in on it and I think it says "Do not let others look down on you because of your youth," in Hebrew, but my ancient languages aren't so great so...seriously this is such a cute picture!!!!

J&E- actually it's his tuberculosis (BCG) vaccine scar. It's getting worse but it's been two months- we're not sure if we should take him in to see the doctor or not... but a miniture tattoo- that's a good idea too!
