figuratively and literally! Sam has said his first word and it is 'light.' I should add that it does not always sound like 'light' most often it sounds like ught or something like that, but when he's in the mood he concentrates on my pronounciation and says it really clearly. He's especially good with the t. I told John that it's kind of like our French pronounciation. If we try really hard we can mimic almost anything, but in the course of speech we get a bit lazy and our accent suffers.
A quick note on French... I finally feel like I've had a breakthrough when it comes to memorizing vocabulary. www.wordchamp.com has been so wonderful for me and today I used 15 of my vocab words from the previous couple of days. It was really exciting for me.

Yea for first words. My first word was also 'light'... good times. glad to see that you guys are doing so well. I'm sad that our paths don't cross since the jones' and you guys left philly. At least they can cross in cyber space.
WOW! i was totally rooting for sam as he was standing there on his own focused on the comb! that was intense. he better be able to say "light" on cue next time I see him, too cute! :)
