A trip by ship has taken us wandering, and my grandparents are here!

First, let me just say that my promise of a Sam walking video will just have to wait. I've got one of his lesser attempts on tape but he seems to have decided that crawling suits him just fine for the moment so I'll wait until he starts walking in earnest to shoot and post a video.

This weeked we went to Torremolinos on the southern coast of Spain to visit my grandparents at their annual vacation spot and to drive back with them to Rabat for the week. We really enjoyed our time there-here are some of the highlights:

1) Sam's first boat trip (we took the ferry from Tangiers to Tarifa) Sam driving us through customs

2) three countries in one day (Spain, England (Gibralter), and Morocco)
with the rock behind us...

3) time spent with John's college friend, Jamie, who just happened to be in the same town

4) the gorgeous botanical gardens in Torremolinos replete with waterfalls and fountains (will have to add photos later since they are on my grandmother's camera)

5) wonderful conversations with my grandparents, particularly with my grandmother as we were seated together in the back on the long drive home.

6) surprisingly beautiful sunny weather and gorgeous views of the Mediterranean and the snow-capped Sierra Nevadas (they have a set in Spain too)

We're looking forward to the week with my grandparents here too.

Some more photos

John couldn't give me a straight face for this photo commemorating our big night on the town walking up the 180+ steps from the beach to the city center

Gibralter was ready for Sam- someone even wrote his name on the wall of a tunnel for us

My grandfather with his daughter's daughter's son
My grandmother quickly learned not to attempt wearing necklaces in Sam's presence and this time he even convinced her that glasses weren't very safe around him

Their hotel in Spain has a few little bronze donkeys so... photo op!
