A nice break

On a scale of 1-10, I've been between a 3-4 all week. I think it's just the stress of moving and how much I dislike sorting things and packing, but there are other things dragging me down too. Anyway, rather than dwell on that sort of thing, I wanted to share about a nice break we had today.

We spent the day with our friend Ina- she helped us move furniture in her pick-up truck since she has diplomatic plates and doesn't get bothered by the police. Then we hung out at her house all afternoon- took real showers, took a nap in aircon, read some fun magazines. Then as we were leaving she invited us for dinner so John went home to get Sam from his babysitter and Ina and I cooked together. It was a great meal and we watched AFM (the Armed Forces network with American shows). Then Sam got a bath (all this bathing stuff is especially nice since we no longer have a hot water heater and don't always have water either). It was so nice to sit on carpet and drink Crystal Light and take a shower with good water pressure.

I'm so grateful to Ina for giving us a retreat day- especially since our house is all boxes, bags, piles, and has increasingly less furniture.
