Such a great weekend!

We had a great time with Kathryn- I'll post pictures when I get them (if I haven't yet entered into the crazy world of a new born). We had a couple late night chats, visited the elephants (which Sam loved even more this time- he even fed a few bananas to a baby elephant), and went to the Saturday night walking market. I really enjoyed the whole time.

My due date was Sunday so I'm now in the 12 days or less range. This part of pregnancy is really strange for me. I never really expected to have a baby before my due date, but now that I'm after the due date and especially because 2nd babies tend to come sooner, I have this feeling every morning when I wake up that since I didn't awake with contractions, today isn't the day. I know that that isn't true either- just because I awoke to contractions with Sam doesn't mean I won't go into labor at 4 in the afternoon this time, but I can't imagine that. Anyway, I find that I'm thinking of when labor will start all the time and I feel distracted. I've been feeling physically a bit worse off- nauseous yesterday, a lot of Braxton-Hicks contractions, and major fatigue. There is a part of me that thinks that I'll just magically feel myself again once I've given birth (forgetting the recovery time and the exhaustion that comes with night-feedings).

My next doctor's appointment is Saturday morning- for a non-stress test and ultrasound, then we'll make a plan for what to do from there for the last week.

John's mom gets back Thursday, so in many ways, it would be good if our little guy waits until then. I guess it would be nice to have another date night with John too- made difficult by the breakneck pace John's been working in order to get as much done before the baby comes as possible. Everyday, his accomplished list is long and his to-do list is somehow even longer than the day before :-) He's doing a great job though; I'm really proud of him.

We move to our next sublet tomorrow or Thursday morning. It's a nice place- has a playset in the yard and some toddler toys which Sam will enjoy, but we're not sure how long we'll stay in it- John would really like to settle and unpack in our new place as soon as possible.
