I realized that I have this reticence to post entries on here without pictures- it just seems like that's the part people would want to see anyway- but I've decided that something is better than nothing so I'm going to try to post at least every few weeks even when I don't have our computer hooked up enough to get our pictures ready for the blog.
We're back! And adjusting pretty well to the differences of life here- things that have been strange to us coming back this time include:
-not taking our shoes off before going into this one house we visited (a complete no-no pretty much everywhere we've lived)
-the choices in the grocery store- for example Diet Cherry Vanilla Berry Dr. Pepper (whoa!)
-understanding strangers and their friendliness- like a random conversation we had in the airport in Chicago with some guy from NC
-blending in and seeming normal
-Americans seem to be a lot calmer about pregnancy than Indonesians- I wasn't even asked how many weeks I am when I flew up to Boston yesterday but in Asia I was asked that at 4 months
So it's been great to be back- to see friends and family and to get ready to have this baby. We went to our first real prenatal appointment on Monday (though we've been tracking along the way with various health professionals) and heard the heartbeat loud and clear. It was so amazing! Now we can feel the baby's feet and back pretty much all the time and that's cool too. Yesterday, my sister 'played' with her niece or nephew for about 20 minutes- chasing the movements around my belly and pushing back when he/she kicked. I'm reading a great book that my friend Becky lent me which has 1-4 page stories of natural birthing from a bunch of women and it's really interesting to see the trends in their experiences.
If you're looking for a phone number to call us while we're back- email us in a few days- I think we'll have one then :-)

Welcome back! Are you in Philly now? Rich and I would love to catch up with you both sometime :) I'm sure you are super busy now though... I'll see if I can find your email so we can go back and forth that way. Blessings! :)
I hope the adjustment is going well for you! I read a wonderful blog entry by a woman up here on natural birth - the best thing I'd read on that so far ... I can't find it online at the moment, but I'm going to write her and ask for a copy. Send me an e-mail @ flying_mango [hotmail] and I'll forward it to you!
Hey guys,
First, stop annoying the baby or she's going to be pissed off at you the moment she's born. (assuming she's a she).
Second, I hope the speaking is going well and the PowerPoints are rocking everyone's world.
Third, say hi to anyone we might know there for us, like our good acquaintances Cameron and Jen and Brad and Becca.
Just start talking Bahasa around people and see if they react! (just not around airport security) :-)
much love to you 2.5, I miss you!!!
