Okay- so probably only the lucky few of you who check this regularly will be able to see this link before it gets taken off the internet, but...
Sam and John and I were on ABC news here because the birth center where we delivered will be celebrating their 6000 baby soon and they asked us to come in for an interview (probably because they liked the idea of us coming back from Indo to deliver there :-)
So here it is- you'll have to cut and paste it:

Those of you that miss it can just read the script below :-) but you should know that Sam is the first thing you see when you go to the video. He's a cutie!

About 450 times a year, the flag goes up at The Birth Center in Bryn Mawr, announcing a new arrival. And any day now, the center will welcome the 6,000th baby born there since it opened in 1978. It was one of the first non-hospital maternity facilities in the country.
"Women come to us because they really feel they can take part in their birth experience in a way they can't under most other circumstances," said Peggy Stone, R.N., M.S.N. who is a midwife at the Birth Center.
"There's a really nice vibe, and a really kind of relaxed, comfortable feeling when you come in here, and we felt that way through the whole delivery," said Amy Schrager.
Amy and her husband, Craig, said the nurse midwives prepared them not just for birth, but also for parenthood.
"It was sort of treated more like it was a natural thing," said Craig Barken.
Parents and staffers alike seem to develop attachments to the Birth Center. Its restful garden was created by several midwives who've gone on to other jobs, but came back to design it.
Caitlin Littleton first heard about the center from friends while she was in grad school at Drexel University.
"I thought if I ever have a chance to have my first child at the birth center that would be so wonderful," said Littleton.
And though she & her husband were doing tsunami relief in Indonesia, they worked it out so they come back for baby Sam's birth.
"It just felt like we were coming home, even though we weren't from around here."
In case of an emergency they can go right across the street to Bryn Mawr Hospital but they say that's rarely needed. Birth center moms have a 10 percent chance of needing a Cesarean section, compared to the 30 to 40 percent rate at most local hospitals.

Sam already has his 15 minutes, out of what, a few thousand so far? Go Sam go!
We'll also be visiting a birth center in the next week or two. We'll probably be in the Ocean Room, where Miriam was born on April 8, three years ago.
